"Jumping at the Opportunity Offered"
Deanna Diseveria
Financial Controller, Fluorogases Business Unit, Arkema

For Deanna, some events have a special resonance. The FIFA World Women’s Cup France 2019 set for next June is one of them. Deanna will be rooting for her home team. “Of course, I’ll be cheering for the U.S. team. But living in France makes me want to support its team, too. The fact that Arkema is a WWC sponsor makes the event even more exciting.” Another moment that inspired Deanna was when Marie-José Donsion joined Arkema’s Executive Committee as Chief Financial Officer in June 2018. “Having women as qualified as she is in leadership roles shows Arkema’s commitment to building a dynamic workforce, with diverse viewpoints and experiences.” Deanna graduated in 2010 from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a four-year degree in business management and accounting. She took a job as an audit associate at KPMG, one of the biggest international auditing, consulting and accounting firms. That’s where Arkema spotted her. In 2014, she made the move to King of Prussia as Senior Manager, Financial Reporting for the U.S. region. “Arkema offered me a unique opportunity to further my career,” says the young woman. In 2016, she accepted a job as a consolidations accountant at headquarters in France, then was appointed EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Asia) financial controller for the Fluorogases business unit. She holds down that job while studying for an MBA in finance and international business. “I jumped at the opportunity Arkema offered me to work as an expatriate. It is taking my knowledge and understanding of global operations and decisions to a new level. I’m a young woman who wants to gain new skills and go farther. I found myself in the right place, at the right time.”
